Patient help
How to use your recovery link, check-ins and follow-up tools.
For urgent symptoms, contact your clinic or local emergency service. Do not wait for an app response. For personal care questions, contact your clinic directly.
Your recovery link: 12 features
Open the private link supplied by your clinic. No ChatGPT sign-in is needed. Keep the link private.
Your clinic and clinician
See the treating clinician and your clinic’s contacts and instructions where configured.
Recovery timeline
Explore day-by-day recovery guidance and move between days with Previous, Next and Today.
Daily check-ins
Record pain, swelling, bruising and warning signs. Your clinical team can view submitted entries.
Home support
Record whether you have enough practical help at home and, if you choose, whether it comes mainly from a partner or spouse, family member, friend or another support person.
Optional wound photos
After saving today’s check-in, choose whether to share up to three private healing-wound photos with your authorised clinical team.
Symptom assistant
Describe a postoperative concern in plain language and complete a short warning-sign screen. Urgent answers stop the conversation and show call options.
Your daily history
Review the check-ins you have already submitted for this procedure.
Help and symptom alerts
See guidance for reported warning signs and clinic or emergency call options where configured. The app is not continuously monitored.
Laboratory drop-off scheduler
View affiliated laboratory locations, exact acceptance hours and approved sample handling instructions, then reserve an arrival time when your clinic has configured a partner.
Optional peer support
Join your clinic’s group if it is open. Use a generated nickname; posts and replies need clinic approval.
Clearance Journey
Use an optional private ejaculation counter and 12-week countdown dashboard. The count stays in this browser or installed app on this device, not in your clinic record. Its preparation rings do not confirm contraceptive clearance.
PVSA clearance wallet
When an authorised clinician records an eligible azoospermic result and clinical clearance, view the signed clearance card and its safety information. The separate wallet link is private and can be revoked by the clinic.
Features such as clinic contacts, laboratory scheduling and peer support depend on your clinic’s setup. Time and counter milestones do not confirm clearance; your clinic must review your semen-test result.
Search written app instructions. No patient details or private links. This search does not send a message to the clinic.

What does the interactive procedure walkthrough show?
Getting started
Choose See how NSV works on Patient home. You can move through five non-graphic procedure steps, turn a simplified anatomy model, select what concerns you, review a preparation-to-semen-test timeline and open myth checks about hormones, masculinity and sexual function. Your selections stay on that screen and are not saved or sent to a clinic. The guide is general education, not an assessment or consent, and your clinic’s technique and recovery instructions may differ.
What does the shared-screen cover protect?
Privacy and support
On sensitive patient pages, choose Hide screen at any time. The page also covers itself when the tab or app goes into the background and stays covered when you return until you choose Show my page. The browser title changes to a neutral Information label while the protected page is open. This reduces casual exposure in app-switcher previews, but it is not a device lock and cannot erase browser history, downloads, screenshots or system notification previews.
Can the patient app be completely invisible on a shared phone?
Privacy and support
No website can guarantee that. The WISPIVAS name and icon remain visible if the patient installs the app, and a browser may retain history. Email and SMS previews are controlled by the phone. On a shared device, use the browser without installing, enable a device screen lock, turn off lock-screen message previews, keep private links out of shared chats and use Hide screen before handing over the phone. Patient SMS reminders are optional and use neutral preview wording.
Will I receive a copy when I submit information?
Privacy and support
Yes. After a registration, informed-choice form, appointment booking or cancellation, recovery check-in or photo, symptom report, PVSA document upload or laboratory drop-off request is saved in the clinical app, WISPIVAS attempts two separate emails: a patient receipt with a private 90-day copy link, and a privacy-safe clinic notice linking authorised staff to the secure record. A verified patient payment sends a private printable payment-receipt link and a separate clinic notice. Newly issued invoices and staff-verified payment receipts also send a private printable document link to your recorded email. Medical answers, photographs and uploaded documents are not attached to these emails. The app record is saved first and remains the official record even if email is unavailable. The email service accepting a message does not prove inbox delivery. Keep private links confidential and contact your clinic if you need another copy. Moderated peer-support posts are not clinical submissions and are not copied by email.
How does the private onboarding guide work?
Getting started
On Patient home, choose the point that best matches what you need today: exploring, arranging care, completing pre-op forms or returning after the procedure. The choice only changes what is shown on that screen. It is not saved, scored or sent to WISPIVAS or a clinic. Reading information and using the decision reflection do not create a patient record. Personal and clinical information is shared only when you submit a clearly labelled booking, registration, informed-choice or recovery form.
How do I complete the medical-history questions?
Getting started
Patient registration asks five short questions, one screen at a time, about allergies, medicines and supplements, bleeding history, other relevant medical conditions and previous operations. Choose Yes or No. If you choose Yes, add a brief accurate detail, then continue. Review and correct the answers before submitting registration. Your answers are not saved until you submit the form. An authorised clinician will still confirm them privately; use a healthcare facility directly for urgent symptoms.
Do I need to type the country code with my mobile number?
Getting started
It depends on the form. In Patient registration, select your country and enter your local mobile number; the app applies the calling code automatically. In appointment booking and the informed-choice form, enter the complete mobile number with the country code, for example +254… . Use the same number across forms so the clinic can link your records safely.
Who pays for an SMS reminder?
Privacy and support
A patient does not pay WISPIVAS to receive an optional preparation reminder. WISPIVAS sends enabled reminders through its configured messaging service; any service cost between WISPIVAS and a participating clinic is handled separately from the patient pathway. A mobile network may still apply its normal charges in unusual situations such as roaming. SMS is sent only after the patient selects the reminder option during booking, and delivery is not guaranteed.
Which referral link should I receive?
Referrals
Your referrer keeps their partner link and uses it to submit your name and email after you agree. The app then emails you a separate, personal invitation. Each referral has its own patient link. Keep yours private and do not forward it. It expires after 30 days and closes when registration is completed. Contact the clinic if it is missing or no longer works.
Can my referrer see whether I register or arrive?
Referrals
Only if you permit progress sharing. Your referrer records that optional permission when submitting the referral. They can then check the referral reference using their own partner link and see Received, Registered or Arrived at facility. Your invitation page tells you whether sharing was recorded. Clinical details are not shown. You can still be referred without agreeing to progress sharing. Contact the receiving clinic at any time to stop sharing, or if permission was recorded incorrectly.
Does registration mean I have arrived or booked an appointment?
Referrals
No. Registration, appointment booking and physical arrival are separate. Complete registration through your personal invitation and arrange an appointment separately. Clinic staff confirm Arrived at facility only after checking that you physically attended. Contact the clinic if an arrival was recorded incorrectly. The app does not send automatic progress emails to your referrer.
What can I do with my private recovery link?
Recovery link features
Your recovery link provides 12 main features: 1. Your clinic and clinician: See the treating clinician and your clinic’s contacts and instructions where configured. 2. Recovery timeline: Explore day-by-day recovery guidance and move between days with Previous, Next and Today. 3. Daily check-ins: Record pain, swelling, bruising and warning signs. Your clinical team can view submitted entries. 4. Home support: Record whether you have enough practical help at home and, if you choose, whether it comes mainly from a partner or spouse, family member, friend or another support person. 5. Optional wound photos: After saving today’s check-in, choose whether to share up to three private healing-wound photos with your authorised clinical team. 6. Symptom assistant: Describe a postoperative concern in plain language and complete a short warning-sign screen. Urgent answers stop the conversation and show call options. 7. Your daily history: Review the check-ins you have already submitted for this procedure. 8. Help and symptom alerts: See guidance for reported warning signs and clinic or emergency call options where configured. The app is not continuously monitored. 9. Laboratory drop-off scheduler: View affiliated laboratory locations, exact acceptance hours and approved sample handling instructions, then reserve an arrival time when your clinic has configured a partner. 10. Optional peer support: Join your clinic’s group if it is open. Use a generated nickname; posts and replies need clinic approval. 11. Clearance Journey: Use an optional private ejaculation counter and 12-week countdown dashboard. The count stays in this browser or installed app on this device, not in your clinic record. Its preparation rings do not confirm contraceptive clearance. 12. PVSA clearance wallet: When an authorised clinician records an eligible azoospermic result and clinical clearance, view the signed clearance card and its safety information. The separate wallet link is private and can be revoked by the clinic. You do not need a ChatGPT account. Use the valid private link supplied by your clinic and keep it private. Some clinic, laboratory and peer-support features depend on your clinic’s setup.
How do I use the recovery timeline?
Recovery link features
Open your private recovery link and find the recovery blueprint above today’s check-in. Select a day tab, or use Previous and Next to explore the guidance. Choose Today to return to your current recovery day when that button is shown. Day 1, Day 3 and Day 7 include check-in prompts; select Go to today’s check-in to reach the form. The timeline is general guidance, not a prediction of your recovery. Follow your clinic’s individual instructions.
Where can I see my previous check-ins?
Recovery link features
Open the same private recovery link and scroll to Your daily history near the bottom of the page. It shows saved check-ins for that procedure, with up to 90 recent entries. Your authorised clinical team can also view your submitted entries. If you made a mistake in a saved check-in, contact the clinic; you cannot edit it yourself. Clearance Journey counts are stored separately on your device and do not appear in this clinical history.
Where do I enter my clinic code?
Getting started
Open Patient home and enter the provider-issued code under Activate your clinic journey. When the clinic has enabled its profile, you will see its logo, contacts and approved instructions. New registration details are then routed to that clinic’s authorised care team, and its appointment page opens by default. The choice is remembered on this browser for 30 days and can be changed or cleared. The code is not a password: it does not open records, sign you into the staff dashboard, assign a particular doctor or book a visit.
Why does my recovery link show a different clinic?
Getting started
The recovery link uses the clinic and treating clinician recorded for that procedure. It takes priority over a code entered on Patient home. Contact the clinic if the record appears wrong. General clinic instructions do not replace any personal instructions you received.
How do I get my recovery link?
Getting started
Ask your clinic to send your private recovery link after your procedure record is signed. You can receive it even if you have already left. Open the link on your phone. Keep it private; anyone with it can access your recovery history.
My link is missing or does not work. What should I do?
Getting started
Contact your clinic to request a replacement. Links expire after 90 days, and a replacement makes the old link stop working. Tell the clinic if you shared it with the wrong person. Do not post the link in a support group.
How do I submit a recovery check-in?
Check-ins
Open your recovery link, select your pain, swelling and bruising ratings, answer the warning-sign and home-support questions, then submit. Check that submission succeeded. Follow your clinic’s schedule, including Day 1, Day 3 and Day 7 follow-up. A submitted daily entry cannot be edited; contact the clinic about a mistake.
What does Home support record?
Check-ins
Home support asks whether you have enough practical help today, who is mainly supporting you, whether the clinic may involve that person, whether you could reach urgent care, whether someone is available to call, and any support or transport barriers. You may select Prefer not to say where offered. Limited support creates an amber follow-up planning task; it is not an emergency by itself, does not affect your right to care and never requires partner permission. Authorised clinical staff can review it with the recovery check-in.
How do I share a healing-wound photo?
Check-ins
First save today’s symptom check-in. In Optional recovery photo, take or choose a JPEG or PNG image, check the consent box and select Upload private photo. The app prepares a smaller copy and removes camera metadata before sending it in supported browsers. You may add up to three photos to one daily check-in. A pending photo can be removed before a clinician marks it reviewed. The photo is available only to authorised clinical staff, is not attached to alert emails and is not included in routine exports. Photo review is not immediate and does not diagnose healing; contact the clinic or emergency service without waiting if you are worried.
How do I use the symptom assistant?
Check-ins
Open your private recovery link and choose Open symptom assistant. Describe what you notice, then answer the safety questions one at a time. A warning sign stops the questions and shows call options immediately. Your report is saved in the protected recovery record. The assistant is not a diagnosis and the clinic does not monitor the conversation continuously.
Will someone call me if I miss a check-in or report a concern?
Check-ins
A missed Day 1, Day 3 or Day 7 check-in may appear briefly to clinic staff as a neutral No response indicator. It retires after 48 hours and does not guarantee a call, email or SMS. A reported warning sign or other clinical concern remains open for clinical review until staff document closure. Keep your contact details up to date and contact the clinic or emergency service directly if you need help. Your private recovery link remains available for 90 days.
What if I need urgent help?
Check-ins
Follow the urgent instructions shown on your recovery screen or symptom assistant and contact the clinic or local emergency service. Do not wait for a reply, an email, a clinic callback, a help search or a support-group post. The assistant cannot diagnose or provide emergency care.
Will I get a semen-test reminder?
Semen testing
If you agree to reminders and your clinic enables them with your confirmed email, the app can send overdue reminders from 12 weeks when no test is recorded. Email setup must be working. Do not rely on a reminder to arrange the test: follow the instructions and timing your clinic gave you.
Can I reserve a laboratory sample drop-off?
Semen testing
If your clinic has configured an affiliated laboratory, open your private recovery link and choose Laboratory sample drop-off. Check the exact acceptance hours, temperature and transport instructions before collecting, then reserve your planned arrival time. This is a drop-off reservation, not a test order or result. Contact your clinic if no laboratory is listed. Home-kit ordering is not available.
Am I cleared when the counter reaches its targets?
Semen testing
No. Time and count targets do not confirm that the procedure has worked. Follow your clinician’s contraception instructions until they confirm clearance after reviewing your test results.
What is the PVSA clearance wallet?
Semen testing
It is a private card documenting an eligible azoospermic laboratory result and the clinician’s recorded clearance decision. It includes the patient, clinic, clinician, dates and reference number. It is not a lifetime sterility guarantee: late failure and pregnancy are rare but possible. Keep the wallet link private and contact the clinic if pregnancy is suspected or repeat testing is advised.
Can the clinic see my Clearance Journey count?
Privacy and support
The optional count is stored only in the browser or installed-app storage where you entered it, not in the clinic database. Someone using that browser profile may be able to see it. Clearing browser data can remove the count, and it may not transfer between devices.
Can I ask any question here?
Privacy and support
Type an app question to search this guide. It does not generate medical advice, access your record or send a message to the clinic. Do not include personal details or private links. Contact the clinic for questions about your own care.
Can I stop reminder emails?
Privacy and support
Contact your clinic and ask them to pause reminders. The clinic can also correct your email address. The current reminder process stops when a semen analysis is recorded.
Is peer support private and immediate?
Privacy and support
Joining is optional. Other patients see a nickname, but the clinic can identify your membership. Posts need clinic approval, so replies are not immediate. Never use the room for urgent help.
Can I install the app on my phone?
Getting started
Open Patient home and follow the install instructions. While connected to the internet, wait for Offline Outreach Mode to confirm that all five public guides are verified on the device. Use Refresh guides or Try again if verification is incomplete. The saved Patient information, Recovery guide, Patient help and Privacy notice links can then open without a connection. Your private recovery link, clinical pages and all submissions still require internet access. Push notifications are not currently available.
What happens when a healthcare professional refers me?
Getting started
You receive a discreet email containing a private clinic invitation link. The link opens the receiving clinic’s approved preparation instructions and lets you continue to registration or its appointment page. The invitation does not confirm eligibility, consent to surgery or book an appointment. It expires after 30 days and should not be forwarded.
